The elementary students at St. John's have weekly assemblies. It just so happened that the 1st graders hosted the assembly the week of the 100th day. Liv was a Zoo Keeper for the event. She was one of only 3 in the the whole first grade. She did a great job and was really excited that Daddy was able to come!

After they recited their Polar Bear, Polar Bear poem, they did a small costume change and got ready to sing a song to us in French.
Liv had been telling me how they were learning a special dance and was even showing me some of the moves. She told me that her friend, Ryan, was going to be her partner. I said, "That kind of looks like square dancing." She said, "Nope, that's now what it is." The day of the assembly came, they started to dance and kicked it off with a do-si-do. Total square dancing! They called it "Alabama Dancing". That was a new one for me!

I picked up Sophie early from school so that she could attend, Daddy arrived on time, and we all REALLY enjoyed the assembly. Piper sat the entire time...eyes glued to the stage. Congrats to the first grade on such a wonderful assembly!
