The Yankee's HAVE arrived!

We knew when we moved over here that we just HAD to get Nana and Papa to visit us!  We made plans, and we were so very lucky that everything fell into place.  We got to have them here with us for almost...6...WHOLE...WEEKS!

First, we picked up Sophie at Timbertops...

Next, we caught up with Cole in the courtyard... 

...and finally...we surprised Liv in the playground!

Countdown to Papa and Nana's Visit

Sophie started us on the "how many more wake-ups?" kick as her way of counting down to special events.  Every morning she will say, "How many more wake-ups until Daddy gets home from his business trip?" or "How many more wake-ups until we go to Erie?"  It seems to have started a trend and now everyone in our family has started counting wake-ups!

  When I was a little girl and I went to Sacred Heart, I can always remember making paper chains to use as a way of counting down to a special event.  I decided it would be fun for the kids to make one that would help us countdown to Nana and Papa's BIG arrival in Belgium.  

Every morning they would run downstairs to see whose turn it was to rip the ring for the day.  We started off with about 20 rings, but I started taking pictures when we got to 10.

Liv's Spelling

Each week Liv is given six words on Monday that will be her "words for the week".  They have to re-copy the words on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and on Thursday night they have to write a sentence for each one of the words.  I always get a kick out of sentences that she comes up with.  Apparently...she had a certain someone on the brain this week!

Her sentences...

1.  Hitting is not principled.

2.  My Aunt is very knowledgeable at cutting hair.

3.  I told my Aunt congratulations when she found out she was pregnet.

(Good think pregnant wasn't the word of the week!)

Tea Time with the fairies

 The girls were invited to a little friends birthday party.  It ended up being a Fairy Tea Party.  Liv, Sophie, and Piper put on their fairy wings and they were on their way.  They munched on "fairy bread", strawberries, and grapes.  They even got to sip their "tea" out of REAL cups and saucers.  

Ice Art

The Unit of Inquiry that Sophie's class was working on during the Winter months was Splish, Splash.  As part of their learning they created Ice Art.  It was so chilly that they decorated a bush outside their classroom.  Sophie told me to "take a picture...QUICK because it would soon melt!"
